Anam Youths Championing Development in Anambra West Through Summit – Anekwe

The 2023 edition of the Elite Youths of Anam Foundation, EYAF, summit will be a turning point in the development plan of Anambra West local government area of Anambra state.

EYAF President, Mr. Christopher Ejike Anekwe, dropped this hint while briefing newsmen on the activities lined up for the meeting slated to hold at the Ajandu Hall, Umueze Anam on Saturday December 2, 2023.

According to Anekwe, the summit will be used to provide intellectual insights as well as call-to-action on the various aspects of development challenges facing Anam and Anambra West area.

“First of all, the theme of this summit which is “Entrepreneurship and Business Innovation: Pathways to Success,” is designed to examine the role of small and medium enterprises, SMEs, in harnessing the potentials of our youths. At the same time, we will use the summit to look at other issues such as: “Human Capital Development: Breaking Socio-economic and Cultural Bounds” and “Anam Transformation Plan: From Mindset to Landscape.

According to him, the resource persons for the summit, Chief Simeon Nnakwe, Emeka Peters Obiora and Engr Isaac Okafor, were carefully selected based on their distinguished academic, professional and business accomplishments in their various fields.

“Our guest speaker, Chief Simeon Nnakwe, who is a PhD holder in Economics from Thammasat University, Bangkok, Thailand, is an accomplished business man and social crusader who has campaigned vigorously for equity, justice and fairness in Anambra West and beyond.

“Emeka Obiora is also an astute banker, an entrepreneur, financial analyst and researcher with over 16 publications to his name. Engr. Okafor, on the other hand, is a Director and Head of Manufacturing Services Department of the Electronics Development Institute (ELDI), which is a subsidiary of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), an agency in the Nigerian presidency.

“As you can see from above, we have panelists who would take us through this journey of re-awakening in our development efforts at the summit.

The EYAF boss further disclosed that the event would feature presentation of award of full university scholarship for Medicine and Surgery to Miss Clara Amarachi Ekweoba, WAEC Scholarship for nine (9) qualified SS3 students in Anam, as well as disbursement of EYAF Micro Credit interest-free Loans for 2023/2024 season for over 40 women.

“We are making a bold statement in Anam and Anambra West local government area with this event. We expect to have members of the elite, professionals, educationists, students, youths, religious, traditional and community leaders as well as political leaders across Anam to participate in and support this event.
