Seadogs warns against violence against women.

National Association of Seadogs (Pyrates Confraternity) Onitsha Chapter has warned against all forms of violence against women.

President of the group, Engr Emeka Uwaechia gave the warning at the weekend during a road show sensitization in commemoration of the United Nations International day for the elimination of Violence against women.

He said it was a criminal offence for men to dehumanize women by way of violence.

He restated the group’s commitment to keep contributing to the development of the society.

He said, “The sensitization show is a yearly program of the United Nations. NAS as a group has been carrying out most United Nations programs for the betterment of the society.

“NAS has come a long way and we shall keep imparting positively to the development of the society where we exist.”

Also speaking, Executive member of the group, Mr Ezennia Chukwudebelu urged men to resist the temptation of transferring aggression on their wives.

He urged them to treat women with respect and dignity.

“Men should stop directing their anger to their wives. They should rather treat the women with respect and dignity,” he said.

The group covered over 4 kilometer walk with women from various walks of life during the Road Show.
