Two Land in Police Net over Alleged Rape, Theft of N1 Million Worth of Bitter Kola in Anambra

Two suspected armed robbers have been arrested for allegedly stealing bags of bitter kola worth over N million in Amichi, Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The suspects, identified as Onyenachiya Emmanuel and Chigbo Okeke (both from Afube village in Amichi) were said to have been arrested by local vigilante in the area.

Anambra Daily gathered that the duo also stole phones, ATM cards and raw cash belonging to a young lady who owned the kola.

The duo were said to have raped their victim in turns after the robbery.

A viral video showed the suspects being interrogated, while pump action gun and the stolen bags of bitter kola recovered from them were displayed before them.

Confessing to the crime, the suspects attributed their action to handiwork of the devil.

They revealed that the robbery operation was carried out at Ebenasa village, Amichi, where the victim resided.

When contacted, Police spokesperson, Ikenga Tochukwu promised to make further enquiries on the incident and get back to this reporter.
