Anambra PG warns Peace C’ttee against victimization

President-General, Umunya Development Union in Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State, Chief Innocent Nwabueze has charged members of Ajakpana Village Umunya Peace and Reconciliation Commitee to avoid victimisation in course of their assignments.

He urged them to ensure every member of the community was carried along for fruitful results.

Speaking while inaugurating the Peace and Reconciliation commitee at the Umunya Development Union Secretariat, Nwabueze stressed that Ajakpana remained the only people that could restore peace in their village.

He said as challenging as the committee’s task was, members should not to see themselves as uncontrollable authority but those meantime to serve with honour and dignity.

“After three meetings at the instance of the Traditional Ruler of Umunya, Igwe Dr Kris Onyekwuluje, the villagers resolved to elect persons from each of the kindreds of Ajakpana Village to serve in the Commitee.

“The Committee has three months to complete its assignment and will conduct election for the village in December 2023,” he said.

The PG commended the people for right step they took in coming together as one united indivisible family to resolve their differences.

Responding, Committee Chairman, Ichie Sunday udegbunu assured people of Ajakpana of soon retoration of peace in the village, soliciting for their maximum support.

“My commitee will embark on peace mission and will ensure every member of the community is carried along,” he stressed.
