A new Controller, Anambra State Command of the Nigerian Correctional Service, CC Usifo Joseph Ehimeme has assumed office as the 18th substantive Command Controller of State.
Ehimeme took over from CC Pat Chukwuemeka fsi, following posting instruction by the Controller General of Corrections Haliru Nababa FICMC MFR Mni
Chukwuemeka proceeded on retirement, having attained the mandatory retirement age.
Handing over the command and control of the command to the new helmsman by the presentation of insignia of power, former controller appreciated the staff of the command for their support while his administration lasted, charging them to extend more support to his successor.
Receiving the insignia, the new controller pledged to lift the command higher by bringing to bear his wealth of experience in his new assignment.
He reminded the staff that no two administrations were the same, urging them to rise up to the task of embracing the reforms his administration would offer.
Usifo reiterated his zero tolerance for lies, dishonesty, craftiness, indiscipline, filthiness and other attitudes unbecoming of correctional officer.
He tasked the staff to tag along with him in the process of making the command great.
Ehimeme from Edo State has Higher National Diploma (AGRIC), Post graduate Diploma (strategic management) UniIlorin
M.A.(International Development Studies), IMSU.
He also had undergone several professional courses in the course of his carrier including the DCC Command course at the Nigerian Correctional Service Academy, Ijebu-igbo.
CC Usifo, a seasoned and thoroughbred Correctional Service administrator has traversed the length and breath of Nigeria in the service of the fatherland.
He meritoriously served in the following capacity: Officer in charge Lafiaji Medium Security Custodial Centre Kwara State,
Orreh Farm Centre Imo State, Adim Farm Centre Cross River State, Deputy Controller Special Duties Edo State Command, Officer in charge MSCC Enugu, Enugu State, Controller in charge Education, National Headquarters Abuja.
He was the Controller in charge of Anti-Money Laundering Unit National Headquarters Abuja before his present posting as the 18th substantive command Controller of Anambra State.
Highlight of the brief event was the signing of handover note and immediate tour of the facilities under the command by the new controller.
Meanwhile, the NCoS new Commanding Officer, CC JE Usifo, has ordered immediate relocation of the state headquarters to the newly commissioned Federal Secretariat complex, Awka.
He gave the order after an inspection visit to the complex as part of his strategies for effective supervision of the formations under his command.
He expressed confidence that the new arrangement would boost the morale of the personnel who had operated from a rented apartment with limited spaces.
Recall that towards the twilight of the previous administration, the Federal Government, through the ministry of Works, allocated office blocks to the Service in the Federal Secretariat Complex.
