A 24-year-old Sales Representative, Oluwatosin Akanni, has been arraigned before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing goods worth N11 million and N6 million cash belonging to a company.
The defendant, who resides at 15, Mojofa St., Phase 2, Adamo, Ikorodu, Lagos, is standing trial for obtaining by false pretense and stealing.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against him.
The Police Prosecutor, ASP Raji Akeem, told the court that the offences were committed between November 2022 and June 2023 at Green Life Pharmaceutical Limited, Obanikoro area of Lagos.
Akeem said that the defendant obtained some cartons of drugs and creams from her company, valued at N11 million under the pretence of delivering it to a buyer and remitting the money to the company account.
He said that the defendant failed to remit the money and when the account was audited, it was also discovered that N6. 689 million was missing.
The offences, according to the prosecutor, contravene Sections 287 and 314 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Bola Osunsanmi, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N1 million, with two sureties in like sum.
Osunsanmi, thereafter, adjourned the case till Oct. 23 for mention. (NAN)
