Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Aderemi Adeoye has ordered operatives of the Cybercrime Unit of the command to track down persons behind the circulation of old videos of slain soldiers in the state, on the social media.

Adeoye described as “enemies of the people” purveyors of the old video clips of burning of a commercial bus at Nanka and killing of soldiers at Umunze in Orumba South Local Government Area of the State.

The CP, in a statement by Command’s spokesman, Tochukwu Ikenga warned those behind the false alarm seeking to create fear in the mind of the public to desist or risk prosecution.

He called on Cybercrime Unit of the Nigeria Police Force to track down those exhuming the old videos which, according to him happened last year during the dark days of insecurity.

The statement reads in part, “The Commissioner of Police who described the antic of recycling such old video clips as vile propaganda has warned purveyors of false alarm who seek to create fear in the mind of the public that they will be brought to book.

“The Commissioner has tasked the Cybercrime Unit of the Nigeria Police Force to track down those exhuming the old videos to create panic and fear among the populace.

“He wishes to re-assure Ndi Anambra that the Police and sister security agencies will always go the extra mile to secure them against agents of darkness that do not mean well for them or for the Nation.

“He called on Ndi Anambra to disregard the videos and not help enemies of progress to share them.”
