John Bosco Onunkwo Foundation has donated N5 million to Ohaneze youths in Anambra State for environmental friendly research aimed at protecting the state from natural disaster.
Chairman of the Foundation and National Grand Patron of Ohaneze Youth wing, Chief John Bosco Onunkwo disclosed this shortly after receiving award of excellence from the youths.
He also disclosed that 500 youths were to benefit from skills acquisition scheme of the Foundation, saying the gesture was targeted at pulling youths in the state out of crime and criminality.
He vowed to do everything possible to ensure youths were reasonably and responsibly positioned to contribute to nation building.
He said, “We’ve instituted lots of programmes, including Aquatic building training, Agro-Allied training and scholarships to youths to eradicate poverty among them.
“We plan starting the training with 500 youths. We have also empowered 100 and we will continue to empower them through entrepreneurial skills acquisition because they are pillar of the society.
“We’re also planning a seminar for the youth to discoverer their talents to eradicate mental poverty among them.
“The seminar is targeted at identifying youths’ talents and to empower them accordingly to be better citizens.
“I want to unite and bring all factions of Ohaneze youths together under one leader for a meaningful development in the region.”
Handing over the award to Onunkwo, Acting National Youth leader, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Mazi Chukwuma Okpalaezeukwu said the award was in recognition of his philanthropic services to humanity in the State and Nigeria.
