A Grade I Area Court sitting in Kabusa, Abuja, on Thursday sentenced a 40-year-old motorcyclist, Ibrahim Muhammed for breach of trust.

The Judge, Malam Abubakar Sadiq, sentenced Muhammed following a guilty plea by Muhammed.

Sadiq, however, gave him an option of N25, 000 fine or to a 10 months’ imprisonment.

He also ordered him to pay a compensation of N197, 000 or serve four months jail in lieu of payment.

Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, S. O Osho told the court that the convict was entrusted with a motorcycle worth N197,000 for commercial purpose.

He explained that the convict was expected to remit some money weekly to the owner of the motorcycle, but failed.

Osho said that the convict did not only fail to remit its weekly payment, but also absconded with the motorcycle to an unknown destination.

He said the offences contravened the provisions of sections 312 and 322 of the Penal Code. (NAN)
