Bishop Mike Okonkwo of The Redeemed Evangelical Mission (TREM), on Sunday, urged Nigerians to trust God in unexplainable situations.Okonkwo said this in his sermon at the Sunday Service of the Fountain of Light Church Foundation, Ilupeju, Lagos. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, founder of the church, passed away in the United States on Monday. The deceased had lost his first wife and co-founder of the church, Pastor Bimbo Odukoya, in a plane crash in December 2005.He got married again in January 2010, to Pastor Nomthi, a South-African, but lost her, to cancer, in 2021.โ€œIn this life, things happen and we must come to terms with it, even as our hearts are overwhelmed and we are pained in this moment in time.โ€œThere are so many questions that we canโ€™t answer at the moment, as Pastor Odukoya was a good man with no moment of anger in him, so the entire church in the world has been robbed of a wonderful and awesome soul.โ€œIn times like this, the question is what should be done, is what do we do, and as believers, we have cried and we are still crying but there comes a time where we have to dry our tears.โ€œThe Lord would direct our paths as we know that everything would be okay and everyone should remain more committed than ever before in serving the Lord as this is one of the ways to show that he impacted us.โ€ bishop Okonkwo said.He advised people to desist from saying and entertaining negative comments noting that every situation is the will of God.โ€œIn everything, give thanks because this is the will of the Lord for us, cause in moments like this, people tend to say things they donโ€™t know about.โ€œLife happens and we nรฉed to understand that in situations like this, you donโ€™t run your mouth by saying negative things against the church or the Almighty God.โ€œGod is a good God and he has assured that he would never leave or forsake us, so no matter the situation, he would never leave you and leave this church.โ€ he said.He urged the public to support the entire family of the late pastor so as to ensure that the latter didnโ€™t labour in vain.NAN reports that there were condolence registers at the entrances of the church for congregants to sign and leave remarks on the late pastor. Also, the mood in the church was of mixed emotions, due to the demise of the founder.
