Anambra Police Intercepts Fleeing 3-Man Armed Robbery Gang, Recovers 2 Pistols, Stolen Tricycle

Police operatives at Neni in Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State have intercepted an armed robbery gang that snatched a Tricycle from the owner in Agu-Awka on July 15, 2023.

According to an official police account issued by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the command, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, the gang was smashed following information received from the Police in Awka that the gang was fleeing towards Anaocha LGA.

“The Police who were on patrol with the local vigilante laid an ambush for the robbers and got them apprehended. One Baretta Pistol and one locally made Chief Revolver Pistol, twelve rounds of life, and one expended ammunition were recovered from the three-man gang. The Tricycle has also been recovered”, Ikenga said.

The arrested suspects were identified as Ebuka Madu ‘M’ age 22years of Umunze, Chinedu Godwin ‘M’ age 23years from Enugu State, and Udegbunam Chikezie ‘M’ 18years of Neni.

The PPRO further disclosed that the Commissioner of Police, CP Aderemi Adeoye has assured members of the Public and Ndi Anambra that the confidence reposed in the Command for the maintenance of law and order and pursuit of justice shall not be taken for granted. He has directed that the suspects be arraigned in court after a diligent investigation.
