NIS Anambra Command Tasks 46 Newly Promoted Officers on Professionalism

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Anambra State Command has promoted 46 officers to various ranks.
The officers included six Deputy Comptrollers, seven Assistant Comptrollers, one Chief Superintendent of Immigration, four Superintendent of Immigration.
Others were 11 Deputy Superintendent of Immigration, one Assistant Superintendent of Immigration 1 and 16 Assistant Superintendent of Immigration 2
Performing the ceremony at the Command headquarters, Comptroller, Edirin Okoto urged the newly promoted officers to see their elevation as act of God which they must reciprocate with hard work, diligence to duty as well as exhibiting high sense of professionalism.
While congratulating the promoted officers, Okoto who is barely three months old in the state, enjoined those that were not promoted to work harder, put in their best and follow the steps of the successful officers.
“Getting elevated in the Service doesn’t come easy. As far as the service is concerned, you have to work very hard and your ability and dexterity must be recognized to take you to greater heights, ” he noted.
The Comptroller thanked God for such a blessed day and commended the guests for finding time to grace the occasion, assuring that NIS, Anambra command would keep moving to greater heights.
Speaking with journalists after the ceremony,
One of the decorated officers, Patrick Nnadi Mezuma who was promoted from the rank of Assistant Comptroller to Deputy Comptroller of Immigration, described the day as a very memorable one and thanked God for such honour.
He explained that promotion was not only through qualifications, but through federal character, years of service among other indices.
“Promotion comes with additional responsibility. I pray God to grant me the enablement to discharge my duties as the most senior in the rank,” he said.
Also speaking, Ifeoma Obiora who was promoted from Assistant Superintendent of Immigration to Deputy Superintendent of Immigration promised to continue to be loyal to the service as serving the public has been her passion.
The husband of Assumpta Ezeani who was promoted from Chief Superintendent of Immigration to Assistant Comptroller of Immigration and Director in Anambra Basic Education, Uchenna Ezeani described his wife as faithful, dutiful, loving and caring, maintaining that getting promoted is not easy and it brings joy.
The physically excited Ezeani promised to support his wife to get more promotions.
“She has all my support, every encouragement she needs from me and the entire family, she will get it.”
The event witnessed the decoration of the officers in their new ranks.
