The information is contained in a press statement released to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Awka on Saturday by DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, Police Public Relation Officer, Anambra State Police Command.

The statement said that similar centres have been built and commissioned in Abuja, and Rivers State while that of Benue State is still ongoing.

โ€œThese skills include fashion design, catering, baking, hair and wig making, headgear styling/design and many others,โ€ he stated.

The statement disclosed that POWA President assured that participants at the end of every training session would be given necessary tools and empowerment materials for the successful take-off on skills they had acquired.

Mrs Ikemi Echeng, the POWA Chairperson in Anambra, commended the efforts of their National President and urged her to ensure welfare of the officersโ€™ wives in the state.

Echeng described the gesture as a development that will spur officersโ€™ wives in Anambra to greatness while discharging their statutory duties.

She said that with the assurance, their welfare is of paramount importance to the leadership of the Force, vowing that the officersโ€™ wives in Anambra would perform optimally in their chosen areas of work.

The statement noted that the event attracted cash donations by dignitaries in attendance which included the representative of the major sponsors of the project, Prince Arthur Eze, Dr Okechukwu Eze, the traditional Ruler of Ukpo community, Igwe Robert Eze, Sen.
