The Civil Liberties Organization (CLO) has felicitated with mothers worldwide as they celebrate motherhood as well as their dedication to raising Godly homes and setting exemplary qualities for a better humanity.

The Chairman of CLO, Anambra, Mr Vincent Ezekwueme, gave the facilitation on Sunday in Enugu while extolling the sterling qualities of mothers as they celebrate mothering Sunday worldwide.

Ezekwueme said that mothers remain keepers of and unifiers of family, adding that behind a very successful and prosperous man, there must be a virtuous wife.

According to him, motherhood is a rare gift from God, harbingers of God’s family, society and nation.

“It is of prime importance to note that a virtuous wife precipitates a virtuous family and society. It is pertinent to note that mothers should radiate love and peace.

“Mothers should be harbingers of love, peace, unity, tolerance, agents of positive agent and tranquility.

“They should show agape love to their husbands, children, siblings and the larger society,” he said.

The chairman said for a mother to be good and trusted, she must be ready, willing and prepared to make sacrifices in order to comfort her family, neighbourhood and the society.

Ezekwueme called on mothers to emulate the life of Blessed Virgin Mary, and other virtuous women in the Bible and historical times that were full of grace, humility and love in their time.

“Our mothers should be with impeccable integrity like Saint Mother Theresa of Calcutta, late Prof. Dora Akuyili, Dr Okonjo Iweala, retired Justice V. N Umeh, and Dr Oby Ezekwesili, among many others,” he said. (NAN)
