The Labour Party (LP) Presidential Candidate, Mr. Peter Obi has congratulated the Labour Party (LP) Senatorial Candidate for Anambra Central, Senator Victor Umeh on his victory at the Court of Appeal against Uche Ekwunife and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Recall that the Court of Appeal, Awka on Thursday 23, February 2023 affirmed Senator Victor Umeh as the candidate of the Labour Party (LP) for the Anambra Central Senatorial District, Anambra State.
The court in its judgment held that the suit which supposedly disqualified Senator Umeh as LP candidate at the Federal High Court, Awka was statute barred and lacked locus. Justice Olubunmi Oyewole, who read the judgment via zoom, allowed the two appeals by the LP and Senator Umeh to stand.
In a short congratulatory message posted on his official Twitter and Facebook accounts; Obi wrote: “Congratulations to the Labour Party (LP) candidate for the Anambra Central Senatorial zone in Anambra State, Sen. Victor Umeh on winning his court appeal.” -PO
