Nigerian electorates heading to poll to elect their next president on February 25, have been admonished to rise above primordial sentiments and financial inducement in casting their votes so as to elect the most credible, competent and committed candidate as President Muhammadu Buhari’s successor.
Dr. Uba Iwunwa-Ndukwe, a Nigerian, Canadian-based Peace Ambassador, Music Artist, Actress and author made the call in a statement she released following her recent confirmation as the ‘Empress of Africa’, special recognition as world peace and royal diplomat by the Kingdom of David, headquartered in Jerusalem, Israel.

“I feel elated that on February 17, 2023, the Kingdom of David, which has its headquarters in Jerusalem, Israel officially announced me as World Peace and Imperial Royal Diplomat. But, ofcourse, as a Nigerian, my full attention is on what is happening in Nigeria and the crucial election before us. The citizens have suffered so much through the years and still suffering with the recent Naira redesign policy, fuel scarcity, and insecurity worsening the whole situation.

Dr. Uba, a nine-time Honorary Doctorate Award recipient in Diplomacy, Philosophy, Peace and Human Rights due to her global humanitarian leadership, further disclosed that the critical situation Nigerians have found themselves in ahead of the general election has presented them with the golden opportunity to choose the right leader who will lead the country out of its socio-economic and political challenges.

“The truth is that God may have allow the situation to reach this critical point so that Nigerians will realize that voting the right candidate irrespective of religious, ethnic consideration is the way out. So, on February 25, Nigerians have another golden opportunity to take back power from the bad leaders who had refused to deliver on their electoral promises over the years.

“I have followed the presidential campaign closely from Canada and I’m impressed with the way the candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Mr. Peter Obi had rallied Nigerian masses, especially the youths behind his quest to move the country from consumptive to a productive economy. His messages resonate with me and I believe that getting him elected will be a fresh start for the country.

Queen Ugobeze, as she is fondly called, however, warned electorates against selling their votes on election day.
“Reports have it that most of these politicians behind the worsening socio-economic conditions in the country have mobilized enough funds and materials to use it to buy votes. As far as I’m concerned, it will be tragic for Nigerians to sell their votes to the same wicked leaders and commit themselves to another four years of suffering. By now, everybody should be wiser.
