The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State has described its support strength as source of worry to other political parties and their candidates ahead of the general elections.
The party expressed confidence in securing over forty percent of total votes, particularly in the Presidential election in the area.
Cordinator Tinubu/Shettima Campaign Council in the state, Sen Margery Chuba-Okadigbo stated this in Awka at the inauguration of the state Rally Planning Committee.
Okadigbo, represented by Sen Sir Emma Anosike maintained that those sceptical about APC support base in state would be surprised over the outcome of the poll.
She said, “Those who are sceptical about APC support base in Anambra state would be surprised at what would be the outcome of the February general elections.
“This is because we are already sure of at least 40 Percent votes In Anambra state and we know that other campaign organizations are apprehensive about this and they feel threatened because of that.
Okadigbo however cautioned people of the Southeast against putting their eggs in one basket, describing that as dangerous posture.
“In politics everyone would not belong to the same party and that has been the bane of the Southeast geopolitical zone at every general election and at this time we don’t need to put our eggs in one basket.”
Chairman of the Rally Planning Committee and former governorship aspirant, Hon Sir Azuka Okwuosa warned those planning to instigate crisis in the party to desist, assuring that all torny issues had been resolved.
“Those planning to instigate crisis in the party are doing that at their own peril. The party has been able to resolve torny issues relating to membership of the campaign council.
“In politics, it is normal for people to have some little issues but they have all been resolved and everyone is back to the family,” he said.
Also speaking, Chairman, Publicity Committee of the State Campaign Council, Sir Chris Chikwelu underscored the need for party faithful to work hard towards ensuring victory for the party in the state.
