National Vice President of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Chief Damian Okeke-Ogene on Wednesday predicted that over eighty percent Nigerian would vote for the Labour Party Presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, in the 2023 general elections.

He said Obi’s change agenda, wide endorsement from the Afenifere, Middlebelt Leaders Forum and many other ethnic social-cultural organisations across the country informed reasons for his prediction.

Speaking during the inauguration of Anambra State Obi/Datti presidential campaign committee on Wednesday in Awka, Okeke- Ogene who doubles as South East Zonal coordinator, stressed that Southeast support for Obi was not for interest of Ndigbo but that of Nigerians.

He said, “We don’t want to make our support to Peter Obi an Igbo affair and we are not supporting him because he is an Igbo man. Ohaneze is fully in support of Peter Obi/Ahmed Datti joint ticket. We are fully in support of it “in and out” .

“The Yorubas are supporting Obi/ Datti ticket, they are even leading in support of the ticket for national interest. They said it is a pay back time for Ndigbo for supporting Abiola and Obasanjo.

“We gave them 90 percent votes and they are appreciative. Why won’t the Igbo support the movement?”

Describing Obidient movement as divine intervention to rescue Nigeria from total collapse, Okeke-ogene maintained that Nigerians had decided to take back their country and there was no going back.

He added, “God is propelling this movement and not by any human being. I’ve not experienced it in Nigeria before. We are not working for Peter Obi but for ourselves and the future of this great  country.

“Peter Obi is not looking for anything, with two grown up children, he is not looking for means to train them but how to restructure Nigeria for the good of all.

“I urge the campaign committee members to work harder for the realization of this wonderful dream.”

Speaking shortly after the inauguration, state party Chairman, Ogochukwu Eneh congratulated the members and charged them to work hard to guarantee victory for the party.

State Coordinator/Director General  Obi- Datti presidential campaign committee, Chief Joe Martin Uzodike disclosed that over 800 persons constituted members of the committee.

He said all party candidates were automatic members of the committee, urging them to ensure no stone was left unturned towards rescuing Nigeria from further decay.

State Secretary of the Compaign Committee, Barr. Okoli Akrika commended the party for finding them worthy to lead the campaign and promised to deliver.
