The Young Progressive Party (YPP) House of Representatives candidate for Awka North and South Federal Constituency, Kingsley Uyammadu has identified political instability, inconsistency in policy making, among others as factors denying Nigeria opportunity of attracting foreign and local investors.
Uyammadu, who stated this in Awka, Anambra State during an interactive session with members of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in the state said his constituents and the nation at large would experience divine turnaround in policy making if elected.
He said he had been anointed by God as Messiah to salvage his Constituency come 2023, stressing that no force or power under the earth could stop the ambition.
He also pledged to attract vocational institutions across the two council areas he was aspiring to represent, as well as establish a Trade Zone targeted at raising jobs creators and employers of labour from his Constituency.
While revealing how he transversed across the globe, investing in so many enterprises and consulting different personalities to bring back investors, Uyammadu regretted that most of the efforts were frustrated by inconsistency of government policies and programmes.
He said, “God has anointed me as Messiah to represent Awka North and South Federal Constituency come 2023. No force or power under the earth can stop me from being elected as the next House of Representatives member for this Constituency.
“As an industrialist, who had travelled round the world, I stand a better chance to transform my Constituency and Nigeria by extension. God endowed me with leadership qualities. I have led landlords associations, church associations and so on.
“Nigeria problem is not only corruption but the war between the light and the darkness. Bible says that when the righteous is in power, the people rejoice. I have come to shine the light.
“God sent me to deliver as a movement voice to propagate his gospel. This is the first time someone can emerge as consensus in the whole two Local Government Areas.
“After my inauguration, I’ll visit the presidency, and consult with other National Assembly members to make our policies attractive for investors to come in.”
According to the 50-year-old industrialist turned politician, he is the only man contesting for the election from Awka North. Awka South has four candidates from four different political parties. My constituents are lagging behind in the area of infrastructure and otherwise. I am the only Candidate with the key to redeem us.
” I will move for the federal government to establish a free trade zone at Awba-Ofemili, Awka North LGA. Awba is one town with arable land. Awka North is supposed to become the food basket of Nation. I will make it happen once Government establish a free trade zone.
“I will also setup vocational institutions across the two local government areas so that we will easily build people capacities to become employers of labour.
“As Legislator, my main focus will be to create the enabling environment needed to boost sales and production in Awka North and Awka South. I will make renewable energy a priority so the funds hitherto wasted on alternative power supply can be reinvested in growing businesses.
“This will make Awka North and Awka South a Free Trade Zone. Local production of goods, especially food will be greatly encouraged as we build our business from within. We will ensure favourable competitive strength for our manufacturers.”
Earlier, Chairman Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ Anambra State Council, Comrade Odogwu Emeka described Uyammadu as a true Ambassador of Awka North.
“Uyammadu’s credentials is best to contest for Governorship Election after Prof. Chukwuma Soludo from Anambra South when it’s turn of Anambra Central and possibly turn of Awka North people from Anambra Central,” he said.
Odogwu commended journalists for the love shown him and his leadership in the last 11 months and appealed to them to ensure more solidarity and support for each other for a better union.
