Anambra Teachers Recruitment: Confusion as Soludo Cancels Published List over Irregularities

Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo has directed immediate cancellation of released list of recruited teachers following alleged irregularities.

The ministry of education had on Sunday, released a list of about 5000 recruited teachers, which sparked outcry across the state.

In a release tagged, “Special Update on the teachers’ list released by the State Government”, the Governor further postponed the data capturing of successful Teachers indefinitely, while a new list comprising a total 5000 Teachers, 3000 for Secondary and 2000 from ASUBEB making it 5000 is currently being compiled.

The statement reads, “Prof Chukwuma Soludo has directed the Hon Commissioner to delete the list released yesterday following allegations from the teeming Public that the list was marred by irregularities and some qualified Teachers names omitted from the said list coupled with the duplication of some names.

“However, the Governor has directed the cancellation of the list and further postpone the data capturing of successful Teachers indefinitely.

“To this end, a new list is currently being compiled which would comprise a total 5000 Teachers, 3000 for Secondary and 2000 from ASUBEB making it 5000 and it would be posted here once it’s released.
