Soludo, Esimone, Others Make Case for Promotion of Igbo Culture, Tradition

Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo has called for the promotion of Igbo Culture and tradition for a peaceful and progressive society.

Governor Soludo made the call during a Viva Symposium organized by the Society for the Development of Igbo Philosophy Science and Technology at the state capital, Awka.
Soludo, represented by the Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment and Tourism Mr Don Onyenji noted that people are identified by their culture and language.

He stressed that the Igbo culture promotes hard work, diligence and decency and reminded Ndi Anambra of the numerous road projects he has commenced and solicited the co-operation of Ndi Anambra in order to achieve his agenda.

The Governor also promised to recover the lost glory of Anambra State, noting that the Anambra people are doing great everywhere in the world and called on them to embrace think home Philosophy.
In a speech delivered at the occasion, the Vice Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Professor Charles Esimone, explained that the school authority created the Center for Igbo and African Civilization to document Igbo heritage, medicine, engineering and technology for scholars to think and take different aspects for improved living standards of Ndigbo and Africa.

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Professor Joseph Ikechebelu, in a paper presentation, spoke on the Life and Name: the role of IVF in resolving fertility and child sex issues in Igbo society, encouraged those seeking a child to have hope in God and science as there is no age limit when one can have a child.

In another paper presentation, Very Reverend Father Bona Christus Umeogu spoke on the Medio-Cultural exploration of Igbo Cardinal values of life and name.
