2022 Flood Crisis: Soludo Condoles Victims of Ogbaru Boat Mishap

Anambra State governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has condoled with the families of persons involved in a boat mishap that occured in Umunnankwo Community in Ogbaru Council Area on Friday.

The boat, Anambradaily gathered, was ferrying about 85 passengers when it capsized, with about 30 persons said to be unaccounted for, after a rescue operation.

Governor Soludo in a condolence message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Christian Aburime described the accident as a shock.

He said: “This development is still a shock to the government and good people of Anambra State. I sympathize with the families of people involved.”

According to Aburime, Governor Soludo disclosed that he sent several interventions to the people of the flood ravaged area, who have all relocated to internally displaced persons (IDP) camps for safety.

He assured that government would continue to do its best to reduce the negative effects of the flood disaster in the state.
