Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo has commissioned a new digital hub fully equipped with world-class ICT gadgets in furtherance of his administration’s quest to provide citizens of the state, especially youths with new skills and jobs.
Speaking during the ceremony, Governor Soludo, represented by the Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Mr Tony-Collins Nwabunwanne, commended the Aguata Local Government Transition Committee chairman, Dr. Chibueze Offorbuike for his efforts in setting up the digital center. He enjoyed the over 120 trainees drawn from 14 communities across the local council to ensure the maximum utilization of the opportunities provided by the training facility to widen their digital knowledge and skill.
Also speaking Dr Nelson Omenugha, the Special Adviser to the governor on Youth Empowerment, lauded the Transition Chairman of Aguata for his commitment to the betterment of Ndi Aguata. He urge the participants to seize the opportunity in order to acquire more digital skills.
Earlier in his remarks, the Aguata TC Boss explained that the facility was designed in such way that it would assist the trainees to acquire knowledge and skills required in the digital world, especially, in the area of CCTV installation and solar engineering.
He added that the facility would also serve as a learning center where peoplcontinued area would be engaged in teaching and learning process.
In their goodwill message, the APGA Candidate for Aguata Constituency 1, Hon. Anayo Okpalaeke and Aguata Constituency 2, Hon. Tony Mobiike commended the TC chairman for being a pacesetter and assured him of their continue support for the administration of Governor Charles Soludo.
In his own separate speech the APGA Chairman, Aguata LGA, Hon Vitalist Okoroakor expressed joy that the Soludo administration had hit the ground running and thanked the TC chairman for establishing the digital center at the local government for the training of Aguata youths.
Other personalities who spoke during the commissioning of the ICT Hub include Mr Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata, MD/CEO Anambra State Information Communication Technology Agency, the traditional ruler of Ezinifite Igwe Bob Orji, among others.
