AUGUST MEETING: Umeh Hails Anambra Central Women, Calls for Greater Participation of Women in Electoral Process

Senator Victor Umeh, the Labour Party Candidate for Anambra Central Senatorial District in the 2023 general election has commended women attending the 2022 August meeting across the zone for their roles including the their families, communities and the society.
Speaking during his tour of the ongoing women’s August Meeting, Chief Umeh also applauded the women folk for their enormous sacrifice for the good of the Church and the society at large.
Represented by his wife, Lady Prisca Umeh (Osodieme), Senator Umeh charged the women to brace up in view of the 2023 General Elections and to actively participate in choosing responsible leaders for the various positions being contested.
Ohamadike, as he is fondly called, disclosed that the plight of the women and their children were top of his agenda while in the Senate thus, he made concerted efforts towards creating policies that improves the condition of women as well as his Women Empowerment Programme through which many women/widows gained sustainable means of livelihood.
The women on their part, extolled Senator Umeh’s outstanding generosity and unparalleled contributions to the church and the society at large particularly as it affects the women, and assured him of their unflinching support and solidarity at all times.
The Women who spoke through their leaders/representatives stressed that the present situation in Nigeria demands deliberate action and a more proactive approach by everybody in order to save the country from further collapse and untold hardship.
The women who enumerated some of the remarkable achievements of Senator Victor Umeh in the Senate further vowed to unanimously vote for the Labour Party in the 2023 Elections particularly for the victory of the Party’s Presidential Candidate, Mr Peter Obi and Senator Victor Umeh, the Anambra Central Senatorial Candidate.
Some of the communities visited were: Akwaeze Women August Meeting held at the Akwaeze Civic Center; Obeledu Progress Union (Women Wing) August Meeting held at Obeledu Civic Center; Neni Women August Meeting held at Neni Town Hall and Adazi-Nnukwu General CWO August Meeting held at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Adazi-Nnukwu.
Lady Prisca Umeh was accompanied by the former CWO Organizer of Adazi Deanery, Lady Lucy Anaezionwu, Dr. Mrs Vero Okechukwu and Chief Arch. Ifeanyi Echendu among others
