MTN Nigeria, on Tuesday said that the third edition of the mPulse Spelling Bee Competition, would hold in November in Lagos.
Ms Adia Sowho, the Chief Marketing Officer, MTN Nigeria, disclosed this in a statement in Lagos.
Sowho said the competition was designed to assist students expand their vocabulary, engage in healthy competition and provide relevant resources to maximise their potential.
“We remain committed to providing more enabling platforms for youth education and empowerment in our communities with hope that this edition keeps our kids goal orientated, competitive and resilient to conquer challenges.
“In this third edition, the competition, which aims to promote literacy, sharpen comprehension, and improve the vocabulary of kids will be executed in a hybrid format – the first two rounds will be held on the mPulse website, while the grand finale will take place in Lagos on November 19, 2022.
“The winner at the first edition, Snow George, received a N2 million scholarship, a laptop, smartphone and mPulse goody bag. Her school, Starville School Abuja, received ICT devices, with the top 20 finalists also receiving over N4 million in cash and prizes,” she said.
She said the competition would reward the top 20 sellers with over N8 million cash prizes, laptops, smart phones and more for student winners and thier teachers.
She added that the school of the spelling bee champion would be rewarded with the state-of-the-art ICT devices, while the champion would also get opportunity to be the MTN CEO for the day.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the competition is open to students between the age of nine and 15, who must be registered to participate at the mPulse website.( NAN )
