Anambra Government to Build Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Hub at Ogborji Town

Anambra State Government has reached an agreement with the Ogboji Community to build a Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Hub in the community.
The people of Ogboji Community, Orumba South Local Government Area (LGA), donated 200 hectares of land to the state government to build a pharmaceutical manufacturing hub.
The proposed pharmaceutical manufacturing hub will house over 100 pharmaceutical companies, school of pharmaceuticals, others.
Addressing the Community, the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Afam Obidike said that the project will on completion provide Ndi Anambra and entire Africa with quality drugs, serving as a major supplier of pharmaceuticals in the continent.
Dr. Obidike who led the government team on inspection of the land used the opportunity to call on youths in the area to maximally support the governmentโs good intention in transforming their community.
He pointed out that the project when completed would provide not only job opportunities to them but would bring their community to limelight with other numerous benefits.
“As the health center, this project will help us to eliminate all forms of quackery because people that will come here to cite their company are reputable and internationally recognized.
“Indeed the Solution is here; just a few months ago Gov. Charles Soludo performed a groundbreaking of the Wholesale Coordinated Centre in Oba community where all the drug dealers will have their shops monitored.
Earlier, the Commissioner for Lands, Prof. Ofonze Amucheazi said that the project is for the progress and development of the community, Anambra in general.
Prof. Amucheazi described the site for the project as perfect, assuring Ogboji people that the project will soon kick off and be completed in due time.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Medicals and Pharmaceuticals, Dr. Godwin Nnadozie explained that the project was designed to be the first of its kind in Nigeria and best in Africa.
Dr. Nnadozie noted that on completion, the pharmaceutical manufacturing hub will forever emancipate Anambra state from poverty.
In their various speeches, the Traditional Ruler of the community, Igwe Festus Iyioku, Traditional Prime Minister, Dr. Ken Anyacho, President General of the town, Prince Epundu Emechebe, and Mayor of Orumba South Council area, Prince Sunday Uchendu thanked the state government for choosing Ogboji for the project.
They assured the community’s total support to the world-class project and the Prof. Chukwuma Soludo led administration, which they described as the government of the people.
On behalf of the youths, the Youths Vice Chairman and Chief Security Officer of the town, Mr. Ogochukwu Uchendu who stood in for their Chairman, assured undiluted support and security of the project before, during and after completion.
The Surveyor General of the state, Mr Anthony Idigo was among the government team during the site inspection exercise.
