The Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate in the forthcoming 2023 election, Mr Peter Obi has congratulated Nigerian-born Miracle Izuchukwu for excelling and achieving a noble feat in her career.

The 25-year-old Izuchukwu , who joined the aviation industry in 2019 as a flight attendant with American Airlines, is currently the youngest female commercial pilot in the United States of America.

She traced her desire to become a pilot to her first encounter with a male pilot who encouraged her to follow her dreams while she was working as a customer service representative.

Miss Izuchukwu narrated, โ€œI came home that day, called my father, and told him I was considering becoming a Professional Pilotโ€.

She further narrated her fatherโ€™s remarks thus, โ€œif I get on a plane and see a woman as the Pilot, I would get off the planeโ€.

According to Miracle, words could not explain the pain and confusion she felt because she needed validation from her father; despite the disappointment, however, she was resolute.

In an Instagram post, she spoke about her dream to join the elite group of 7 per cent of females and 1 per cent of black female pilots in the world and how pleased she is to finally achieve the feat.

โ€œItโ€™s an exhilarating, yet surreal feeling to introduce myself to the world as a Pilotโ€, Miracle wrote.

Reacting to her record-breaking feat, via his Twitter handle, Peter Obi congratulated her, saying she made history and also made Nigeria proud.

โ€œMy very warm congratulations to Miracle Izuchukwu, 25. Sheโ€™s Nigerian, and the youngest commercial female pilot in the USA.

โ€œLike her compatriots all over the world, she made her country proud while making historyโ€, The former Anambra State governor tweeted.
