The Anambra State government has directed the proprietors of hotels, Resorts, Inn, Guest Houses, Clubs and Brothels operating in the state to revalidate their operational license and work towards efficient service delivery.

The State Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment, and Tourism, Mr. Don Onyenji who gave the directive in a statement sighted by AnambraDaily explained that the move was in line with the Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s vision to make Anambra State a liveable, prosperous, and smart mega City.

According to Mr Onyenji, the revalidation exercise was aimed at establishing a database of all the operators in the tourism and hospitality industry.

He explained further: “This will aid in regulating the activities of all the hospitality outfits in the state and ensure that they maintain professional standards in services delivery, to ultimately encourage a boost in the industry.”

The Commissioner further disclosed that the exercise which commenced on August 1 will end on August 30, 2022.

He stressed that the revalidation exercise is compulsory, noting that failure to comply within the given time will attract the application of the relevant provision of the Anambra State Tourism and Hospitality Law 2016, including the possible closure of such facilities.
