2023 PRESIDENTIAL RACE: Datti Disowns Social Media Accounts

The Vice Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Dr Datti-Baba Ahmed has dissociated self from the various media accounts in his name describing them as fakes.

Dr Datti-Baba Ahmed who addressed a press conference in Abuja on Monady advised members of the Obidient Movement and the general public to disregard such accounts forthwith.

He disclosed that for long now he had been without any verified social media accounts adding that he had personally written to the hosts of the various social media platforms where such fake accounts were opened in his name to bring them down.

The Labour Party’s vice Presidential flag bearer stated that, “the problem has been there but the rise in profile of the Labour Party and the Presidential Candidate, His Excellency, Mr Peter Obi has rekindled even the proliferation of more accounts with some of them bearing wrong spelling of his name”.

Dr Datti who declined mentioning the social media accounts stressed that because the hosts had promised to bring them down, he would like to give them benefits of doubt adding that if they failed to act, he would take the next line of action.

He also disclosed that he had no verified social media accounts for now but promised that as soon he opened one he would make it known to the public.

The vice presidential candidate would not want to be dragged into the details of the manifesto of the party adding that he was just strictly to address the issues of the fake social media accounts opened with his name.

Dr Yunus Tanko the image maker of the Thirdforce who was also at the media briefing noted that the Obidient Movement cut across the various segments of Nigerians in respective of tribe, religion and ethnicity.

He urged Nigerians to join the movement to rescue the country from the very few individuals who had obstructed the nation from making meaningful progress over the years.
