NSCDC to Partner NIS on Immigration, Human Trafficking in Anambra

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Anambra State Command on Friday said it was set to collaborate with the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) to stem the tide of illegal migration and human trafficking as it concerned their core mandate.
State Commandant, Mr. Isidore Chikere disclosed this during a visit to Nigeria Immigration Service, saying the visit was to ensure sustainability and solidify the inter-agency cooperation and collaboration existing between the two agencies.
He underscored the need for better cooperation in view of prevailing nation’s security challenges, calling for concerted effort of all the security agencies for effective border security and management.
He said, “Immigration Service and the NSCDC have a history of close collaboration in the fight against irregular migration and other forms of trans-border crimes.
“It is our desire that this long existing relationships will be further consolidated.” he opined.
Responding, State Comptroller of Immigration Service, Mrs. Ngozi Odikpo, promised the NSCDC helsman of her unwavering support and cooperation to achieve the desired result, wishing him successful stay with indelible foot prints.
She seized the opportunity to educate the State Commandant and his team on the enhanced electronic passport which erases third party requirements by applicant while obtaining passport.
