Anambra State born and bred lady, Miss Vivian Nath-Okpalaku has bagged a first class honours and the overall best Master’s degree graduating student from the department of Civil Engineering, Cyprus International University, Nicosia, in Northern Cyprus.
Vivian, daughter of a retired Nigerian police officer, Mr Nathaniel Okpalaku hails from Achina in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra state.
AnambraDaily gathered that the before her master’s degree feat, Miss Nath-Okpalaeke had graduated in 2018 with best records from the Civil Engineering department of the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU) Anambra State.
Just like in Cyprus, she left the Anambra State institution top of her class, emerging the best graduating student in the department.
Speaking after her latest triumph in Cyprus, Vivian attributed her feats to her personal philosophy of self discipline, goal setting, consistency and passion for education.
โI set short term goals which include being prompt to lectures, submitting my assignments on time and setting targets for all my courses, all these helped me to achieve my long term goal of excellent grades,” she said.
The star queen further linked her academic successes to her strong basic secondary and first degree foundations.
โMy secondary education and first degree gave me strong basic foundations that made it easier for me to excel excellently here in Cyprus for my masters degree in Civil Engineering which was a continuation of my first degree.
“I always dreamt of getting to the zenith of my career, so now that I have acquired my Masters degree, my next move is to obtain a Doctorate degree in my discipline”
Describing educational system in Cyprus as standard, comfortable and affordable, Okpalaku urged Nigerian government to invest more in education to produce needed human capitals to drive her out of under development.
Vivian dedicated her academic success to God and her dad, CSP Nathaniel Okpalaku Rtd whom she described as her number one role model, just as she appreciated her mother, Pst. Mrs Helen Okpalaku, describing her as her backbone, counselor and intercessor.
She further expressed appreciations to her siblings and friends for their love and support throughout her academic pursuit.
Vivian has several international journals to her name, including her latest publications entitled: (1) Identifying And Managing Most Common Risks In Construction Industry For Roads, (2) Recycled Solid Waste In Construction, (3) A Review On Bacteria Based Self-Healing Concrete, amongst others.
Speaking through a phone interview, Vivianโs father, CSP Nathaniel Okpalaku Rtd, was full of gratitude to God for the grace to witness her daughterโs graduation even though he was unable to physically attend the convocation ceremony.
โIโm excited that my daughter has made both our family and Nigeria proud in Cyprus. I am happy for her efforts and feat in education, and I pray that God will continue to guide and protect her in all her endeavours. My family and I are with her in spiritโ, Okpalaku said.
