Man, 30, Beats Co-Tenant, a Mother of Two to Death During a Fight in Anambra

A 30-year-old man, Ebube Oba has been arrested by police for allegedly killing his co-tenant, a mother of two children during a fight at their residence.

The suspect, according to a statement by the Anambra State Police Command, delivered deadly knock out blows to the deceased, identified as Mrs Uzoamaka Ekpe during the fight.

Mr Tochukwu Ikenga, the spokesperson for the state police command further revealed that the tragic incident took place on Saturday, June 25,2022 at a residential building at Ugochukwu lane Nkpor Agu, Ogidi in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The statement read: ” Police operatives at about 4:33pm on June 25, 2022 arrested one Ebube Oba ‘M’ aged 30years over alleged murder of a mother of two, Mrs Uzoamaka Ekpe aged 45years living at Ugochukwu lane Nkpor Agu, Ogidi.

“Preliminary information revealed that late Mrs Uzoamaka had a quarrel with the suspect which resulted to fisticuffs. Ebube hit the victim on the chest and face with a fist blow, before she collapsed. she was rushed to the hospital and was later confirmed dead by a medical doctor on duty.

“The body has been deposited to the morgue and the suspect is in custody. The case shall be charged to court after investigations,” he stated.
Ikenga, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) officer further disclosed that the state commissioner of police, Echeng Echeng has advised members of the public not to yield to uncontrollable anger at all times as it could be dangerous.
