Prof. Lilian Obiageli Orogbu, the standard-bearer of the Labour Party for Awka North and South Federal Constituency for the 2023 general election has condemned last weekend’s gruesome terror on Saint Francis Catholic Church, Owo in Ondo State.

Prof. Orogbu described the unfortunate incident as barbaric, satanic and totally unacceptable, wondering how innocent citizens could be wasted for no just cause. She decried the spate of insecurity across the country, while calling on the President Muhammadu Buhari’s led administration to up their game in ensuring the protection of lives and properties of the citizens, which, she said, was the primary responsibility of any responsible government.

“I want to sincerely condole with the families of the victims of the attack, the parishioners of St. Francis Catholic Church, Owo, and the Catholic Diocese of Ondo at large, over this unfortunate incident.

“I equally commiserate with Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State and Chairman, Southern Governors Forum, the people and the Government of Ondo State over the unwarranted attack”, Hon. Orogbu condoled.

She further called for joint effort and synergy among the security agencies in fishing out the hoodlums and perpetrators of the heinous crime, while expressing optimism that the families of the victims would get justice.

Prof. Orogbu is the immediate past Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, and defeated two-sitting lawmakers to clinch the Labour Party candidacy.

She is a professor of strategic human resource management (Business Administration), who rose meritoriously through the ranks as a trainer of Business Administrators.
